SSCR EVENT AT THE AAS: “Celebration of First Books in Chinese Religions”

The Society for the Study of Chinese Religions will host a Celebration of First Books in Chinese Religions at the upcoming AAS meeting in Honolulu, Saturday, March 26, 2:15-3:45 pm.

We seek nominations for outstanding "first books” in all fields of Chinese religions, published since 2019, with preference for the most recent books. Nominations can come from all scholars of Chinese religions including the authors themselves, and should include a 1-2 page summary of the book, a clear statement emphasizing what makes this book outstanding, and mention reviews (if available). Each book selected for the Roundtable will be presented by the author and a discussant (we will try to accommodate virtual participation).

Please send nominations to Gil Raz gil.raz@dartmouth.edu and Elena Valussi evalussi@luc.edu

Deadline for nominations: January 15

Notifications: February 15
